Magnetic Filters

Magnetic filter is composed of the filter body and the magnetic bars, it is connecting inlet and outlet production pipes through flange, threaded or clamp type connections.

Magnetic filters are designed to filter and remove ferrous contamination or fine iron impurities/tramps from different viscosity level liquid, slurry, air conveying pipeline powder, gas and other materials. Magnetic filter is an ideal magnetic system for preserving product purity by removing small contaminants and providing magnetic protection for processing equipments of liquid lines.

Working principle of Magnetic Filters:

In the special process of production, the ferrous material passing by the magnetic bar, under the attraction of rods, all those impurity ferrous material will be absorbed on the rods, so as to ensure safety of the equipments and products.

1. Detailed Description Of Magnetic Filters

-Top and body connecting type: clamp or other.

-Size of magnetic filter: as per requirement of customer

-Size of magnetic bar:diameter 20, 25mm or other, length 350mm or other as per requirement.

-Bar number per filter: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 or other.

-Inlet/Outlet: DIN, JIS, NPT / BSPT flange 1”,2” , threaded connection as per customer requirement

-Material: SS304/SS316

-Finish treatment: polishing or other, food grade available if required.

2. Features Of Magnetic Filters

-Many different styles are available for different materials.

-The max magnetic strength can reach 12,000GS for N style, 8000GS for E style.

-Standard working temperature ≤ 80°c, max working temperature can be chosen from 80°c to 350°c as the same with magnetic bars if needed.

-Connection can be through ferrule, bolt plate, flange or uneven head, etc.

-Stainless steel 304 or316L is available for shell material.

-Properly designed magnetic configuration ensures Maximum magnetic effect without impeding liquid flow.

-Pressure design or other special requirement can be custom made.

3. Technical Data of Magnetic Filters

-Finish treatment: polishing, food grade available if required.

-Material: SS 304, SS 316(L)

-Magnetic rod magnetic strength grade: 8000Gs, 10000Gs, 12000GS or other as per requirement.

-Working temperature: 80℃/100℃/120℃/150℃/180℃/200℃ or other

-Working pressure: For common clamp type, the working pressure is less than 0.5Mpa, other pressure is available

-Inlet/outlet connection: Flange/Threaded or other

-Bar number per filter: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 or other.

-Bar size: diameter 20, 25mm or other, length 350mm or other as per requirement.

-Top and body connecting type: clamp or other.

-Accessories available: vent/drain valve, stainless steel wire mesh filter basket, washable and replaceable magnetic bars.

4. Applications Of Magnetic Filters

Magnetic filter is mainly used to remove metals such as impure magnetic powder, granular in chocolate, water, honey, juice, slurry or something like liquid. It is widely used in ceramics, electricity, mining, plastics, chemicals, rubber, food, environmental, pigments, dyes, electronics, metallurgy, etc.

5. How to clean the magnetic filters:

Frequency of cleaning of magnetic filters: it depends on iron impurities contents and treated liquid flow or materials flow per hour. Normally the thickness of powdery iron impurity absorbed onto the surface of magnetic bars should not exceed 10mm. To main the best working performance, magnetic bars shall be cleaned regularly and timely.

Magnetic filters cleaning method:

-Open the fixing screw of magnetic core/bar/rod

-Take out the bars

-Clean the impurities adsorbed on the iron rod surface

-After cleaning, put the magnetic bars into body, fix it. To avoid material or liquid leakage during magnetic filters working caused of sealing ring dislocation, please check and confirm the O-ring (sealing ring) is completely stuck in the sealing gasket groove.

-When cleaning the iron impurities on the surface of magnetic bars, you can use thick cotton gloves, towels, trays and other tools. When it is necessary, you can use clean magnetic bars with clear water.
